Northern Ireland locals expressed concern and uncertainty regarding the post-Brexit trade Deal in Belfast and Larne on Wednesday as the United Kingdom inched closer to December 31, 2020, which sees the end of the Brexit transition period on Thursday.
The deal, affecting imports between mainland United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, entail new checkpoints that will be open in the next couple of weeks in the dock areas of Larne and Belfast harbours. All animals and consumer products entering from the UK will be checked at said checkpoints as Northern Ireland still remains in the EU's single market for goods.
