Heartwarming! Treating a poor giant elephant suffering from an abscess in his leg by the wildlife officials: Humanity at its finest
When animals in the forest get sick or get injured, they cannot treat themselves like humans do.
That is when the wildlife officials are on their side. They are constantly on the lookout for wildlife. Once they realize that a wild animal is in need of help, they do not hesitate to give their fullest service.
This is just another example of such incident.
This giant elephant has been suffering from an abscess in a rear for a long time.
After hearing about this, wildlife officials immediately acted. Upon hearing of this, wildlife officials immediately went in to action.
Eventually they spotted an elephant eating on a lawn near the jungle.
The poor elephant may have been severely suffered by this abscess.
However, getting close to such a big giant, without any precaution is dangerous. Because even though, people try to treat them, the elephants think it's trying to hurt them. So, he would charge the offers, thinking that he is in danger.
First, they have to calm down and sedate the elephant with anesthetic which is administered using a tranquilizer gun. The process is called “Darting”. Don’t misunderstand this process as a shooting to the elephant. This is the only way to administer the anesthetic to the body of the elephant. They shot the elephant with dart gun/ tranquilizer gun to administer the anesthetic in to the elephant’s body.
The elephant tried very hard to remove its syringe from its tail. It took some time for the drug to come in to effect. The anesthetic made the elephant immobilized and unconscious.
A unconscious elephant leaned against a large tree nearby. Now he's not in a condition to attack. Now is the best time to treat the tumor.
This is a very risky operation, because the situation could be dangerous if the elephant regains the consciousness before finishing the operation.
Immediately, they applied the disinfectant and cleaned the abscess thoroughly, removing the pus in it. Then they applied some medicine on the abscess. Finally, an antibiotic was injected to get a speedy recovery from the abscess.
