Punjabi Chole Recipe 2021 | Chole Recipe | Delhi Style Chole Recipe | Quick and Easy Recipe
Punjabi Chole is a delicious North Indian curry where chickpeas are boiled and then cooked in a spicy tomato onion based gravy.

Type: Lunch, Dinner
Serves: 6-8 servings
500 gram Kabuli Chole (Chickpeas)
4-5 cups of Water
2-3 slice Ginger
4 slice Garlic
4 Black Pepper
2 Bay Leave (Tej Patta)
1 tbsp Haldi
2 tbsp Red Chili Powder
1 tbsp Dhaniya Powder
1 tbsp Garam Masala
Chole Masala (Your Choice)
Salt as per Taste
3 tbsp Oil
Wash 3 cups of while chickpeas (Chole) and soak them overnight (7-10 hours). Add a sufficient amount of water as chickpeas will expand in size when they are soaked.
Drain the water and add them to a pressure cooker and pour 2-3 cups of water and add 2 cardamom, Bay leaves, and 2 cloves.
Pressure cook the chole for 6-7 whistles on a medium heat.
Now release the pressure and open the lid to check if the chole is cooked well.
It should be soft and not mushy.
Now take and pan and add 2 tbsp of oil and add onion paste, ginger, and garlic paste and start sauteing.
Add tomato paste and add a little bit of salt.
Saute until the raw smell goes away.
Now add Haldi, Chili Powder, Dhaniya Powder.
Saute until the mix leaves the side of the pan and turn fragrant.
Add the cooked chickpeas and add chana cooked water as per the thickness needed.
Bring it to the boil or until it reaches the desired consistency.
In the end add Garam Masala, Coriander, and Kasoori Methi.
Serve hot with white rice or Roti.
