The diversion of public resources for private (personal or other non-public) gain or abuse of public authority and position for private gain is corruption and a weak public financial management system leaves the door open for corruption. The numerous Public financial management (PFM) reforms and systems adopted by the government have proved ineffective in deterring grand and political corruption in public financial management affecting the quality of service delivery and Uganda‘s development priorities. This talkshow addresses some of the issues and progress on accountable public resource management and good governance.
