There was an attempt to cancel Jesus by King Herod. So intent was King Herod to eliminate Jesus that he orders all the male children two years and under to be killed. My question is, why would Jesus be such a threat to the point of wanting to edit Him? The answer is in how the Magi described Jesus, “King of the Jews.” In Herod’s mind there is a only room for one king, him. And isn’t this the reason why a number of people reject Jesus, they simply don’t want anyone telling them what to do or ruling over them? But what about we followers of Christ? Don’t we fall into the same trap when we read or are taught a truth from scripture and refuse to obey it? Aren’t we in a sense cancelling Jesus in our lives? The very Jesus we vocally call “Lord.” It seems all us have a bit of King Herod in us.
“God’s will is not a maybe.”
