Sodium Valproate has been used to treat epilepsy since the 1970s. But thousands of pregnant women say they weren't warned of the risks of severe birth defects including brain damage and spina bifida. According to a new study the powerful drug could also harm families for generations. There are calls for compensation from the government to help care for their families.
